A Space for Your Whole Family

Family therapy at DC Psychological Services provides a supportive environment for families to address challenges, improve communication, and build stronger relationships and a healthier family system. When one family member is struggling, everyone feels the impact. Our family therapy sessions help you understand underlying issues so your family can achieve greater understanding, connection, and emotional well-being.

We work with all types of families, including parents, children (when appropriate), teens, and caregivers. Our goal is to ensure every family member feels heard and supported while working together toward healthier relationships and patterns.

Our Approach to Family Therapy

Our therapists create a calm and welcoming environment where family members can express themselves openly and safely. Sessions are designed to help families understand each person’s experiences, recognise challenging patterns, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.

Depending on your goals, your therapist may help with communication skills, emotional regulation tools, collaborative problem-solving, and deeper exploration of the patterns that affect your family dynamics. Sessions progress at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for everyone involved.

Support for Children, Teens, and Parents

We work with families starting at age 7 and customise sessions to match the developmental needs of each child or teen. Therapy may include the entire family or selected members, depending on your concerns, goals, and comfort levels.

Our aim is always to help families understand each other more clearly and to build connection through insight and skill-building.
